	Lance Tukell Chapter President \| lance.tukell@astdny.org Lance tukell, currently a Director of Global Training & Development at Chartis International (formerly AIG), is a highly skilled Training and Development leader with over 20 years experience in the field. He has assumed many roles in the Training and Development arena which have included team leader, instructional designer, project manager, and trainer within a variety of industries including finance, sales, technology, telecommunications, film and video, and healthcare. Past employers include Canon USA and the National Institutes of Health. Lance's strengths are his superior communication skills, motivational speaking, demonstrated leadership ability, team and project management, and commitment to customers and quality. Lance, who works in Manhattan and lives in Brooklyn, N.Y., has an M.S. in Instructional Design from Capella University, and is a graduate of New York University's Multimedia Production Program.


	Jim O'Hern President-Elect \| jim.ohern@astdny.org James O'Hern has been in Corporate Learning and Leadership Development for most of his twenty-five year career. Jim started in Sales Force Effectiveness at United Airlines where he was a Senior Consultant for 8 years. During this time he completed a Masters Degree at The American University/NTL Institute program in Human Resources Development. Jim later spent 12 years at Marriott International - 8 years on Marriott's global team - with a 3 year assignment in Frankfurt - and he built a management development practice for the company in Washington, London, Frankfurt, Cairo, Mexico City, Hong Kong, Sydney, and London. In this assignment Jim completed the Gestalt Institute program in International Organization Development in Frankfurt. Jim later served as Vice-President, Worldwide Learning Resources for Marriott International. In 2003 Jim began a focus on Executive Development and became Director of Leadership Development at Honeywell International, and in 2007 Jim moved to Hess Corporation, where he is again coordinating learning and employee development across the business. Hess is a $42B independent oil and gas supplier with global exploration and production, and is a leading provider of Energy solutions to the Eastern United States, where it also manages 1300 retail operations.


	David Discenza Chapter Past President \| ddiscenza@astdny.org David Discenza is a Senior Learning Manager, offering vast experience in Learning & Development. He has been a member of the NY Chapter since 2005, and is founding chairman of the Training Directors' SIG. His work experience includes positions with Fortune 500 companies such as CIGNA HealthCare, General Electric and his current employer American Express. David has also worked in healthcare and in higher education. His passion is to diagnose workplace performance issues and prescribe solutions that drive profitability. Born and raised in Western Massachusetts, David's undergraduate degree in philosophy and in communications is from Boston College and his graduate degree in education is from Indiana State University.


	Patrick Dail Vice President, Chapter Liaison \| patrick.dail@astdny.org Patrick Dail joined BMCC in February, 2006, and has worked in the training arena within Higher Education for a decade. His responsibilities at BMCC involve providing leadership for the design, development and delivery of training initiatives for three distinct constituencies; campus-based BMCC personnel, the employees of client organizations, and general public registrants interested in career change training opportunities. He is also charged with faculty hiring and training, departmental budget development and administration, program marketing and promotion, and customer service unit management. Mr. Dail earned his Bachelor's Degree in History at McDaniel College, Westminster, Maryland, and his Master's in Business Administration with the University of Phoenix, Phoenix, Arizona. He lives in Brooklyn, New York.


	Kathy Meany Vice President, Membership \| kathy.meany@astdny.org Kathy Meany is President of Phoenix Learning Solutions, LLC, a company that she launched in 2009 to provide visionary solutions for corporations' Learning & Development needs. Performance Consulting services include Analysis, Instructional Design, Curriculum Development, Facilitation, and Evaluation for corporations in all industries. Kathy has managed and led Learning & Development teams within major global corporations in financial services since 1997, with prior Financial Advisor experience. Former corporations includes Deutsche Bank, Reuters, Merrill Lynch, and Prudential Securities. In addition to global training project management, she offers vast experience as a Performance Consultant implementing the ADDIE Model, of which training facilitations have taken her around the globe to such locations as London, Munich, Frankfurt, Geneva, Hong Kong, Singapore, Tokyo, Bangalore, Sao Paolo, Buenos Aires, and more. Since 2005, Kathy has been a member of ASTDNY, and has served on the Board of Directors as Immediate Past President, President, President Elect, and VP Marketing.


	Diane McCulloch Vice President, Programs \| diane.mcculloch@astdny.org Diane McCulloch is an executive coach and consultant with the firm Exec\|Comm, specializing in the design and delivery of both group and individual communication skills training. Prior to Exec\|Comm, during her 15 years of professional experience, Diane was Managing Director of communications consultancies in China (Weber Shandwick Worldwide) and the UK (EHPR, part of the Huntsworth Group). She also held senior consultancy management positions in New York and Hong Kong. She has run numerous corporate and consumer events and has worked across a broad spectrum of industries, for clients such as Procter & Gamble, Mercedes-Benz, Northwest Airlines, and MasterCard. A native of Scotland, Diane has a BA Honors degree in Modern Chinese and Management Studies from the University of Durham, England.


	Jennifer Turner Vice President, Marketing \| jennifer.turner@astdny.org Jennifer Turner is the Director of Training and Development at Goodwill Industries of Greater NY and Northern NJ, Inc. Jennifer specializes in social networking and developing customized development programs, including Ethics, Diversity, Customer Service and Mentoring. In her professional career she has worked in the financial, construction, non-profit and defense industries. At the University of Bridgeport, Jennifer served as an Adjunct Professor in the graduate Instructional Technology program. She volunteers for many non-profit organizations, including Big Brothers Big Sisters and the Foundation for Sight and Sound. She is currently a Swim Coach with the Special Olympics. Jennifer holds an M.S. in Instructional Technology and has completed a Project Management Certificate Program at Stony Brook University.


	Melissa Zinger Chapter Secretary \| melissa.zinger@astdny.org Melissa Zinger currently works at Taylor & Francis Books, a leading international academic publisher. As Organizational Development Associate, she focuses on performance management and training and development for three of the US offices. Since beginning the role in May 2008, she has been initiating the roll-out of a new performance appraisal system, conducting training needs assessments and implementing training courses. Prior to working at T&F, Melissa was in an HR Generalist role in a large advertising agency.


	Richard Bittenbender Vice President, Finance \| richard.bittenbender@astdny.org Richard Bittenbender is a Senior Vice President and head of Moody's Professional Development and Training program. Responsibilities under the program include providing both internal and external analytical and communications skills training to all of Moody's analytical staff in 25 countries around the world. Prior to assuming his current responsibilities Rich was an analyst on Moody's Transportation and Capital Goods team. He was responsible for a portfolio of aerospace in defense companies. Prior to assuming this portfolio Rich followed passenger airlines and air freight companies as well as high yield transportation companies operating in the shipping, trucking and aerospace industries. Prior to joining in 1997 Moody's, Rich was Executive Vice President in charge of credit and marketing at Bank Audi (USA) and held a variety of positions at the Chase Manhattan Bank, N.A. including corporate banking assignments in the United States and Asia. Rich received a B.A. degree in history from Wittenberg University. Rich has served on a variety of boards including Board of Directors, Wittenberg University, Springfield, Ohio Chair of the Audit Committee Board of Directors, Marburn Academy, Columbus, Ohio President of the Board for one term Board of Directors, Bank Audi USA.


	Barbara A. Reinhalter Vice President, Operations \| barbara.reinhalter@astdny.org Barbara A. Reinhalter is an independent consultant with over 15 years of Higher Education / Adult Learning experience, supported by over 10 years of financial trading experience (Citibank, Security Pacific Bank) serving domestic and international corporate clients. Managed projects for Columbia University in adult online learning, professional and corporate learning and development, as well as recruitment and institutional research. Earned B.A. from Skidmore College in Government and Economics, and a M.Ed. from Teachers College Columbia University in Sociology and Education, with focus on educational technology in adult learning. Member of ASTD New York Chapter since 2002.


	John M. Attinger Vice President, Technology \| john.attinger@astdny.org John Attinger works at Dewey & LeBoeuf LLP, a top-15 global law firm, as the Technology Training Manager. Since 2000, he has also worked at Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP and O'Melveny & Myers LLP. as a Senior IT Trainer and a Regional Training Coordinator. In his current role, John manages a staff of 4 trainers in NY and London, oversees all training-related projects, manages an IT budget, and incorporates new technologies and creative ideas into the training program. He designed a corporate online university and managed the redesign of the website of a professional-interest organization. He has a special interest in the use of blended e-learning to engage students, and project managed the initial courses at Donald Trump's online university. John studied History (B.A.) at UC Berkeley, and Secondary Education (M.Ed.) at Teachers College, Columbia University. John lives in upper Westchester with his wife and two young children.


	Art Weiss Chapter Administrator \| contact@astdny.org Art Weiss is a native of New York City, having grown up in Brooklyn and the Bronx. He left Pre-Medical studies to become a piano and music theory major at the Manhattan School of Music. After playing jazz gigs around New York and traveling with several shows, he began a brief two-week engagement with his trio at the New York Playboy Club. The job lasted fourteen years! Trained as a pianist from early childhood, Art expanded his musical vocabulary to include synthesizers and computers while leading a show trio at Playboy, and ultimately assumed the position of Director of the New York Playboy Entertainment Department. After Playboy, Art continued his career as accompanist and musical conductor for performers and is currently active as an accompanist to several singers on the New York cabaret circuit. He combines an active career as a musical conductor, vocal coach and performing pianist with musical composition. Art has strong organizational and computer skills, and has enjoyed serving the officers and members of ASTD New York since 1998.


	Kimberly Maybar-Plaxe Vice President, Special Interest Groups \| kimberly.maybar-plaxe@astdny.org Kimberly Maybar-Plaxe currently serves in the Corporate Learning Services Division of Baruch College. In this capacity, she establishes strategic direction for the department, designing certificates and programming relevant to the New York workforce. Her most recent undertakings include spearheading an initiative to engage over 3,500 industry professionals in the design of New York-centric programming, as well as chairing the 2009 Continuing Education Association of New York conference entitled, "Sowing Ideas and Harvesting Success in Difficult Times." Kimberly earned her M.A. in Adult Education/Change Management from NYU, and her undergraduate degree in Spanish/Political Science from Drew University, and a certificate in E-Learning from Indiana University. She is especially interested in Learning and Development program design.
